Give Enrichment : Virtual Science Camp for Kids
This summer is going to present unique challenges for parents and kids. Give your child(ren), ages 6-12, the gift of fun and education with our Virtual Science Camp, accessible from the comfort and safety of home. While there’s nothing quite like a good-old sleep away camp we’ve come up with a great option for the kids in your life who like to dig in, build, create, learn and experiment with our virtual science camp. This camp is available to families living in South Georgian Bay.
Sessions
Children 6-8 will participate in 1 hour a day in the morning; children age 9-12 will participate in 2 hours a day – morning and afternoon sessions available. Camp program runs for 5 days.
Virtual Instruction
Enjoy learning and engaging from the comfort and safety of your own home with guided instruction by an online camp leader.
Materials
Participants will receive a kit of materials needed to participate in the virtual camp, delivered to their front door.
Science Camp Session 2020:
Ages 6-8
Coding & Science Exploration Kit

Build robots, learn about computing, coding principles and computer skills appropriate for children aged 6-8. Learn with new gadgets along side parents and and virtual instructor. Experiment with coding and programming sequences.
PROGRAMMING & CODING FOR KIDS
Virtual campers will learn the basics of the same advanced coding languages and tools that power Google, and powerful artificial intelligence. This program is fun and educational and gives young ones a taste of skills that will serve them in the future.

Build your own Computer

- The Piper Computer Kit includes everything needed to introduce students to computer science, electronics, and coding. Build your own fully functional computer and explore STEAM through Piper's StoryMode using the Raspberry Pi Edition of Minecraft, and PiperCode using Google's Blockly.
DIY LEARNING
Virtual campers will earn what is behind the screen. This educational, DIY experience ranges from building a wooden case, to connecting the hardware of a real working computer.
